Therapeutic approach

While being trained in a contemplative approach, I draw from existentialist and behavioral modalities. I am inspired to make therapy an accessible and beneficial tool to navigate life’s complex experiences and transitions. My approach to therapy is a collaborative process and highly adaptable to what is needed in the moment. My love of Buddhist philosophy informs my approachable, warm, and grounding presence while my New York upbringing provides space for humor and a touch of pragmatic introspection.

KIRSTEN NORR, MA, LPCC SHE/HER/HERS

Pronounced K-EAR-STEN

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and it will always be considered my home. I went to college for psychology but took a detour working for over 15 years in documentary film and television production. A fulfilling and exciting career, there was always something pulling me towards this work. Between projects that took me all over the world, I spent time teaching English at a Buddhist monastery in Nepal which sparked my interest in Buddhist philosophies. This became a catalyst to return to a profession where I can provide support for people in their journeys of emotional growth and well being.

I came to Colorado to attend Naropa University where I got my Master’s in Contemplative Psychotherapy & Buddhist Psychology. Colorado is now my home away from home. I enjoy traveling, painting, cooking and hiking with my dog.
